ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues are skating their way back into the spotlight with an impressive turnaround of late in the regular season.
After a rocky start, the team has found its rhythm, winning nine consecutive games, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
“It’s been up and down, but they’re getting hot at the right time,” said Blues fans Bryan Hoffman and Nami Sentino.
For many supporters, this turnaround has been a long time coming.
“I’ve been to 10 games this year, and I think we lost eight of them,” said fan Ryan Dodson. “So it’s been a long year, and I’m glad we’re getting in the winning ways, and we’re finally on the track that we should’ve been on.”
The Blues’ current hot streak has placed them firmly in the playoff picture, holding onto the second wild-card spot while closing in on the Minnesota Wild for the top wild-card streak. With their longest winning streak since April 2022, fans are buzzing with playoff hopes.
“They’re on a hot streak, we’ll just see them make a playoff run,” Hoffman and Sentino added. “We’re pumped about that.”
Patrons packed OB Clark’s on Saturday afternoon, a bar synonymous with Blues history, as it was the site of the team’s 2019 Stanley Cup celebrations.
“We were really excited about how they’ve been on a tear lately, and we wanted to be in an environment where other people are watching the game and having fun,” said Alicia and Marty Delaney.
Some fans are already looking ahead to the future of the team, including the highly-anticipated NHL debut of Jimmy Snuggerud.
“I’m hoping to see Jimmy Snuggerud’s debut either Tuesday against Detroit or Thursday against Pittsburgh. I have tickets to both,” Dodson shared.
With the Blues eyeing their ninth straight win, the energy in St. Louis is reminiscent of their historic 2019 run.
“This city loves Blues hockey,” Dodson said. “I mean, the last few weeks that the Blues have been competitive, you can just feel it in the city.”
“I would really love another Cup,” added fan Erin Biggs. “Hoping for that 2019 energy here!”
“It feels like 2019 again,” Hoffman and Sentino agreed. “We’re in the right place for it.”
With just a few weeks left in the regular season, the Blues are hitting their stride at the perfect time, and St. Louis is ready to rally behind them.
