NHL Predictions
Carolina Hurricanes vs Montreal Canadiens
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: TSN2; Fan Duel Sports South; ESPN+
We open up NHL predictions with our featured game between the Hurricanes and the Canadiens. Pyotr Kochetkov is the expected starter for this game, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Carolina is 5-4-1 in its last 10 games entering this matchup. However, the Hurricanes are coming off a loss prior to this Eastern Conference matchup. Seth Jarvis has been playing well as of late with six goals with five assists over the past 10 games.
Sam Montembeault is the confirmed starter for Montreal in this important game. The Habs are 2-7-1 coming into this game, but did get a victory last time out. Montreal’s defence has been struggling as of late in giving up 3.5 goals in its last 10 games. Cole Caufield has been consistent all year with 27 goals and 23 assists for the Canadiens.
Carolina’s firepower should carry it through against a Montreal team struggling to keep pucks out of the net.
Prediction: Hurricanes win 5-2.
New York Rangers vs New York Islanders
Head-to-Head: Rangers 1-0 Islanders
Time: 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: MSG; MSGSN; ESPN+
It’s the battle of New York that is our second game in this set of NHL predictions. The New York Rangers are likely to go with Igor Shesterkin in between the pipes for this game. It’s been an inconsistent season for the Blueshirts this season, who are 5-5 in the last 10 games coming into this rivalry game. However, the Rangers are coming off a victory on Sunday. Artemi Panarin has generated 23 goals and 35 assists for the Rangers.
The New York Islanders are projected to go with Ilya Sorokin in a battle of Russian goalies. We’ve seen the Islanders play better as of late with a 6-4 mark in the last 10 games. However, the Isles are entering this critical game after three consecutive defeats. Potential trade candidate Kyle Palmieri has been on his game as of late with five goals and four assists over the last 10 games.
Both teams need a win and both have been up-and-down. However, the Rangers get the victory.
Prediction: Rangers win 4-2.
Detroit Red Wings vs Minnesota Wild
Head-to-Head: Red Wings 0-1 Wild
Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: Fan Duel Sports Detroit; Fan Duel Sports North; Fan Duel Sports Wisconsin X; ESPN+
The last game of NHL predictions has the Detroit Red Wings visiting the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot is expected to get the start in the blue paint for Detroit, which is 8-1-1 in the last 10 games. However, one of those recent losses was a game the Red Wings should have won. Detroit blew a lead and Minnesota stole two points on Saturday. Dylan Larkin has been averaging a point a game with four goals with six assists over the last 10 games.
Filip Gustavsson is the confirmed starter for Minnesota, which is 6-4 in the last 10 games. The Wild have won three straight games and are getting along alright without Kirill Kaprizov. Austrian standout Marco Rossi has notched 20 goals and 29 assists for the Wild.
Detroit will want to avenge that setback on Saturday, but Minnesota takes this one.
Prediction: Wild win 4-3.
