ST. LOUIS — Jordan Walker is back! The Cardinals posted that message to Twitter Monday afternoon. The team recalled Walker from the Memphis Redbirds and is part of tonight’s starting lineup
Walker, 22, started the season with St. Louis but struggled, hitting .155 in 20 games before being sent down in April. While with Memphis, Walker batted .257 with nine home runs and 33 RBIs in 78 games.
The St. Louis Cardinals placed first baseman Matt Carpenter on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a lower back strain. The move is retroactive to Friday. Carpenter, 38, has been batting .255 with three home runs in 42 games this season.
