Arenado and Scott II power Cardinals offense
Just some observations, not a full inning by inning narrative, first time out and all…
The John Deere lawnmower guy is multi-talented, too.

and reported to camp in the best shaped of his like.
Pallante started. It was rough as he fought his mechanics throughout. Couldn’t command his slider or FB. I got a decent pic of when he starts his drive toward home. He isn’t exactly drop and drive. Many moving parts will take a bit to get in sync,

Got to see Arenado tattoo a couple of balls. His HR was well struck, though admittedly it was a get-me-over FB from Quantrill who was having the same velo and location challenges as Pallante. Still good to see, though.
Liberatore was sharp. I think he got through two inning in like 23 pitches. Hit 97 several times with his sinker. He appears more at ease, like he trusts what’s coming out of his hand and expects good results, instead of hopes for.
Watched JJ on backfield and in game. He appears fluid enough and enough arm to stick at SS. He has an oppo swing???

Leahy and JoJo looked sharp in their innings. zach Weiss did nice job getting control of the mess Pallante left. Given the back of his uni, i don’t like his odds.

Anderson got hit a bit. King was his usual workmanlike self. Grunted when throwing FB. I like R. Munoz stuff. I don’t know if I’d say electric, but close. Can see when they brought him in.
I like the challenge system.
They attacked Gorman up. He wasn’t up to it. 3 K’s. They attacked Chase up too. He fared a bit better. Rivas looks like a different player. No longer a skinny boy. Zack Levenson hit a laser and showed some wheels. Who is he?
Two new guys confer after pitching change.

Had two home plate umpires today. One a kid about 10-12 years old, with all the gear and making all the calls, including clock resets. See him in pic.

This is the picture of an absolute bull dog. Do not cross!
