Dylan Moore’s two run home run in the sixth inning was the deciding blow in the Mariners 6-1 win over the Cardinals on Friday night at Busch Stadium. The game was 1-0 in that sixth inning when Moore hit the two run blast off Cardinals relief pitcher Matthew Liberatore. The Mariner piled on with three runs in the ninth inning off reliever Kyle Leahy. Jordan Walker supplied the Cardinals only run of the game with a solo homer in the seventh inning to cut the Seattle lead to 3-1.
The loss knocks the Cardinals six games back of both the Braves and Mets for the final wild card playoff spot in the National League with 21 games remaining in the season. St. Louis trails first place Milwaukee by ten games in the NL Central division.
