Well the timing for this post is not great for me, so it’s going to have to be a discussion thread. My mom’s side of the family had a family reunion so I have had a few beers, a shot of moonshine and few Jello-O shots, so I am not in the best position to come up with a topic or write it.
It was at my parent’s house and they do not half-ass their parties. They had a popcorn station, an ice cream sundae station, an activities station for the kids, bags, washers, beersby, and we played flip cup during the party. We also took Jello-O shots and – one benefit I guess of most of the family being in catering – someone took home a few shots of moonshine from the wedding they worked.
I am writing this after the party like a fool, because I didn’t know it was it was going to be THAT kind of party. I also have to be up at 6:15 AM tomorrow.
ANYWAY, discuss amongst yourselves. Amazingly – cause I watched none of the game – Mikolas had a good xFIP yesterday. He really did which is hilarious in my opinion. It was 3.97. His season xFIP is 4.10. Even his FIP of 4.21 isn’t. I don’t know what to make of this information.
How is he so bad you might be asking? Well, if he allows a baserunner, they score. More or less. He has the worst LOB% among qualified starters and by far. 61.2% of baserunners are left on base, and the next worst is 66.7% which is Patrick Corbin and Brandon Pfaadt. Oddly, Logan Gilbert is the next worst, so that kind of puts into question if this is actually a talent thing (cause Pfaadt and Gilbert are, you know, good), buuuuut I know that’s a difficult argument to make.
Cardinals season is over. Which it already was, but it really is now. Unless they sweep the Reds. And then it’s still over, but enters into longshot territory. I am actually surprised they won even one game, to be honest. The Mariners starting staff is unbelievable.
