Pedro Pages two run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning was the winning hit in the Cardinals 2-0 shutout of the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night at Busch Stadium. Cardinals starting pitcher Kyle Gibson and Mariners starter Logan Gilbert locked up in a pitchers duel. Gibson pitched six and two-thirds innings and struck out nine. Gilbert pitched the entire game for the Mariners allowing just two hits in eight innings. Pages sixth home run of the season were the only runs of this game. Ryan Helsley pitched a scoreless ninth inning to get his 43rd save of the season. The Cardinals go for the series win against Seattle on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.
