First Quarter
Things look really easy for Mizzou. Luther Burden III took the second play from scrimmage 61 yards to the house on an end around. Already 112 yards on the ground for the Tigers, although Nate Noel hasn’t seen the field yet for some reason. He was dressed for warmups. Nic DeLoach also started over Toriano Pride Jr. Shemar McNeil also getting some early run. UMass was able to string together a few positive offensive plays towards the end of the quarter, but a Chris McClellan sack on third down forced a punt.
Second Quarter
Mizzou’s defense looks shaky. Multiple miscommunications in coverage led to a few positive passing plays over the air for UMass. But Corey Flagg Jr. saved the day with a red zone interception, taking it 80 yards to the UMass 15-yard line with nine seconds left in the half. Blake Craig defeated the wind and made a short field goal to make it 24-3 Tigers. Burden had a few more highlight-reel plays after the catch, too.
Third Quarter
This one seems to be over. The quarter didn’t start great for Mizzou — Burden III got rocked on an incompletion and exited the game with a shoulder injury. Looks like he’s done for the day, although the injury didn’t look too serious. Marcus Carroll and Josh Manning with a couple of long touchdowns, also a pair of nice connections between Cook and Brett Norfleet. Tigers lead 45-3.
