With the Cotton Bowl Classic set for this Friday night, Missouri’s quarterback room has taken a hit.
Missouri quarterback Jake Garcia told ESPN that he plans on entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Garcia, a former four-star recruit, started his college career at Miami. From 2021-2022, he completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 950 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
Garcia received interest from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU and several other Power Five programs when he was coming out of high school.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel said Garcia is expected to have three years of eligibility remaining.

Missouri’s first-team offense for the Cotton Bowl shouldn’t really be affected by Garcia’s departure since Brady Cook will be running the show. He has 3,189 passing yards and 20 touchdowns this season.
However, the Tigers may have to search the portal for another quarterback if Garcia leaves this offseason.
