Mizzou Baseball hosts new SEC member Oklahoma still looking for their first SEC win
After getting swept by a previous 1-11 SEC Florida team in Gainesville, the Missouri Tigers (13-23, 0-15 SEC) are still looking for their first SEC win halfway through their conference season. Mizzou hosts Oklahoma (26-10, 7-8 SEC) at Taylor Stadium his Easter weekend looking for that first elusive league victory. Former Sooner and St. Louis native Brock Daniels faces his former team in this series.
Both Oklahoma and Missouri are coming off of midweek wins on Tuesday night as the Sooners topped Bedlam rival Oklahoma State 11-1 in 8 innings in Stillwater. Mizzou, meanwhile, edged out Missouri State 10-9.
Oklahoma Overview:
2025 record: 26-10 overall (7-8 SEC)
Head Coach: Skip Johnson
Picked to finish 11th in the SEC Preseason Poll, Oklahoma is currently exceeding expectations this season as the Sooners are in good standing to make the NCAA Tournament and come in ranked No. 18 in the D1 Baseball polls.
Starting pitcher Kyson Witherspoon (Second Team) was the only Sooners’ player named to the league’s preseason all-conference team. However, Oklahoma showed their overlooked talent right out of the gate to begin their season with wins over Minnesota, Oregon State, and Virginia at the Round Rock Classic in Texas.
In arguably their most impressive conference series win of the season, the Sooners just recently took two out of three last weekend over a ranked Vanderbilt team in Norman.
Team Leaders:

All three games can be seen on SEC Network Plus.
Note: Pitching match ups are based off of starters from previous series.
Series Expectation (Mizzou Gets Swept):
This might be the series where Mizzou finds a way to get into the SEC win column. This series is at home and the Tigers were at least competitive in Saturday’s doubleheader loss on the road at Florida. However, Oklahoma is a step above Florida this season and the Sooners have plenty to play for.
Until Mizzou gets an SEC win this season, I still can’t predict them to. The Sooners have enough talent take care of a depleted Tigers team with a sweep in Columbia.
