Still searching for their SEC win, it doesn’t get any easier for a depleted Mizzou team on the road against a nationally ranked Alabama team in Tuscaloosa.
With a depleted pitching staff, the Missouri Tigers are running out of time on the season to get their first conference victory.
With four SEC series remaining in the regular season, Mizzou is still winless in league play with an 0-18 mark. The Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa to take on a nationally ranked No. 18 Alabama team under second year head coach Rob Vaughn.
Coming off their midweek games on Tuesday night, Mizzou suffered a miserable 11-0 loss to Missouri State. The lone positive was Sam Horn’s return in one scoreless inning of work.
#Mizzou Baseball’s game tonight against Missouri State started promisingly with a shutout inning from Sam Horn. But things quickly went downhill, and the Tigers dropped an 11-0 loss to the Bears in Springfield.@RockMNationhttps://t.co/7eXjbz4B5j

Alabama Overview
Head Coach: Rob Vaughn
2025 record: 32-10 (9-9 SEC)
Alabama was picked to finish near the bottom as the 13th team in the SEC Preseason Poll, but the Tide are still in good position to make the postseason at 32-10 overall and a 9-9 conference mark, coming in at No. 18 in this week’s D1Baseball Top 25 rankings.
SS Justin Lebron (First Team), DH Will Hodo (Second Team) and SP Zane Adams (Second Team) were named to preseason all-SEC teams for Alabama and all three players have made significant contributions this season.
Alabama started SEC play with an eye-opening sweep over a previously ranked Texas A&M team. The Crimson Tide lost two out of three to LSU in their previous SEC series last weekend but came away with a much-needed win on Sunday to salvage the sweep.

Series Expectation (Mizzou Gets Swept):
Mizzou had a chance last weekend at home to get their first conference win of the season against a good, but not great Oklahoma team. However, they got swept and weren’t competitive in all three games.
Alabama is a similar team rankings-wise with Oklahoma, and this series gets even more difficult with it being on the road. Expect a similar result, as Mizzou should get swept once again still searching for their first SEC win.
