Kristi Perez-Snyman rewrote her own school record in the women’s high jump, and Drew Rogers shattered the men’s 3,000m record by four seconds.
Missouri competed at Arkansas’ Tyson Invitational this weekend. Like the meet’s chicken nugget namesake, the Tigers were cooking. In honor of Valentine’s weekend, it’s time for another poetic meet recap. Because haikus and rhymes are to track and field what breaking program and personal records are to the Tigers.
Run:
Men’s 3,000m
On the Arkansas Tyson track that’s red,
Elijah Limo made his Missouri debut.
Drew Rogers ran the fastest 3,000m time in program history,
Becoming the first Tiger to break eight-minutes, too.
Full results (MU Athletics):
19th – Drew Rogers – 7:56.00 | No. 1 in program history
26th – Declan Tunney – 8:02.92 | No. 5 in program history
30th – Tyler Freiner – 8:08.65 | No. 10 in program history
34th – Andrew Hauser – 8:20.21
35th – Elijah Limo – 8:23.13
Women’s mile:
Rahel Broemmel’s back on top of the distance crew,
She took fifth in a season-best 4:42*
She ran negative splits in the final 400-meters,
Followed closely by Anneken Viljoen,
Who ran a PB 4:43.93 heater.
Full results (MU Athletics):
5th – Rahel Broemmel – 4:42.81 | No. 8 in program history
7th – Anneken VIljoen – 4:43.93 | No. 10 in program history
11th – Allison Newman – 4:55.38 | PB
Women’s 60m:
Alicia Burnett took third in a season-best 7.22 against two LSU elites.
Tima Godbless and Brianna Lyston’s times rank the first and third-fastest nationally at any 2025 meet.
Burnett’s 7.22 ranks 16th in the country,
Which is the last spot to secure a national indoor entry.
Jump:
Women’s high jump:
Kristi Perez-Snyman rewrote Missouri history books for her second meet in a row,
Jumping 1.88m, taking third behind KState’s Sharie Enoe.
Perez-Snyman’s new record ranks her THIRD IN THE SEC.
The meet gave her a chance to compete against Arkansas’ Rachel Glenn and Georgia’s Elena Kulichenko,
Who at last year’s conference Indoors finished No. 2 and No. 3
But, wait, this poem isn’t over yet,
For Claudina Diaz set a personal best!
1.85 meters, three years in the making,
No. 12 nationally and second in school history are the places she’s taking.
Men’s triple jump:
Jonathan Seremes jumped 16.83m, which ranks second in the nation,
Who’s first you ask?
Also Seremes; a 16.94m result from an earlier occasion.
So while this meet saw slightly less success,
He’s still the nation’s first (and second) best.
As for Sterling Scott, the sophomore star,
He took third in 15.98m, slightly less far,
Than his season PB which eclipses 16
But, again, his ticket to nationals still looks pretty pristine.
Throw:
No podium placements for the men’s and women’s shot put and weight throws,
And Sam Innes scratched (MWT),
Unexpectedly so.
Emanuele Bellanova deserves the field event shout,
The decathlete set a PB in the men’s shot put throwing 13.5m,
A nice season debut in the discipline to tout.
Postseason competition heats up in two weeks; several Tigers are poised to bring home some hardware at the SEC Indoor meet.
